Just one soldier in the Army of Slugs that occupy my yard

This should be the official mascot for Washington West of the Cascades. Check out the "Sluggy" game on page 12 of Mukey the Mutant Membrane, or the "Jobbo and Bonobo" story in OlyBlog.

Geoduck Comix # 1

A forgotten 1986 comic from the vault of Marc Myers.

I'm betting this Morty Comix type comic came about from a conversation concerning one of our native local critters, the Geoduck (pronounced "Gooey-duck"). As in the case of the Mountain Beaver, or Giant Palouse Earthworm, or Banana Slugs, or Sasquatch, it is sometimes hard to convince outsiders this creature is real.

This animal is sort of like a clam, only bigger and more obscene in appearance. It is also the mascot for The Evergreen State College.
