The Warren G. Harding Song
Some people say he's the worst President we ever had
But allow me to tell you he was not entirely bad
He actually made a speech in the South touting near-desegregation
He promoted the idea of arms control for peace in every nation
He had affairs, his friends were crooks, but, by God, he had Presidential looks
In the end, in the Presidential canon, he should be grateful he wasn't
James Buchanan.

Morty Comix # 2510
Morty Comix # 2510 was a difficult one to place.
It really started in 2007 in Washington, DC. I was attending a librarian conference there that year. I'm the one in the middle. The cats are Baker and Taylor, mascots for a book distributor.
In the bag of conference swag I collected at that event, this plastic sheet of Presidents of the United States was included.
Above the whole scene is a painting by my Aunt Pat Pearson.
Then I brought out my bowl of spare pennies. My daughter made this bowl long ago when she was in school.
I tossed the pennies at the bulletin until one of them bounced off and landed on the presidential visages.
It didn't take long.
Jackson, Van Buren, Harding, and Coolidge
I'm looking for counties. Since there is no such place as Coolidge County in the USA I was able to disqualify Silent Cal. So before rolling the dice I assigned numbers: Jackson 2, Van Buren 3, Harding 4. Within a few rolls Harding was the winner.
So what I settled on was sending the comic to a bar in Mosquero, the county seat.
And I must say I find it hard to believe Warren Harding actually has a county named after him. Incredible.

Buttons - Presidential Campaign - 1972
Nixon Now
A most impressive effort of the Nixon campaign trying to lure the youth vote, 1972 was the first where 18 year-olds could vote.
There was a real storm front between those who were raised during the Great Depression and World War Two as opposed to us Boomers who only saw the shadow of the atomic/nuclear cloud. We grew up with the Cuban Missile Crisis, Vietnam, and the Cold War. Our protests had a sense of urgency since we were concerned tomorrow might never come. Something had to be done about this mess NOW! At the time this was recognized and dubbed The Generation Gap. This button was an attempt by the Nixon people to reach over that gap. Apparently, in terms being re-elected, it worked.
I find it humorous that in 1972 Nixon won by a landslide, but by 1974 when he resigned in total disgrace I could find few people who admitted they voted for him.
When I think about who was the worst president in U.S. history, I have a hard time choosing between Nixon, Reagan, Bush II, Harding or Buchanan.
