Morty Comix # 2281

Morty Comix # 2281 was left at Burgerville in Vancouver, Washington.

Burgerville is chain in the Portland area. It started in Vancouver in 1961 and was then known as Burgerville USA. I always looked forward to going there when I visited my cousins in Vancouver in the 1960s.

Today it still thrives I'm happy to say! And although the decor remains charmingly JFK era retro, the business has grown into a fairly progressive organization, as evidenced by the french fry wrapping I have scanned. But I wish they would return to being known as Burgerville USA on the sign. It has a nice ring to it.

Bezango: Big Boom!

Olympia Power & Light, May 4-17, 2011.

A photo of my cousin, Patty, back in the 1960s. She was visiting us from Vancouver, Washington and we set her up on the tractor. In the background to the right is the hill where the dynamite was planted. Patty is sitting not far from where the huge piece of wood landed. This should give you an idea just how far that chunk of the stump sailed through the air.
