Buttons - Youth Programs - 1970s?

Honorary Police
Burlington, Iowa

Buttons are not something I collect, they just sort accumulate here. I have absolutely no idea how this particular specimen found its way to my house. I have never visited Burlington, Iowa. In fact I've only been through Iowa on a train long ago and never actually set foot on the soil of the Hawkeye State.

It looks like this originally had a soft metal flap at the top that could be used to fold over a shirt pocket but has long since broken off. To remedy that situation someone used blue electrical tape to hold a safety pin on the reverse side.

Favorite Movie Quotes: Phenomenon

"Why do you have to tear him down? What are you so afraid of? What do you got to lose? He wasn't selling anything. He didn't want anything from anybody. He want nothing from nobody! Nothing! Nothing! And you people have to tear him down so you can sleep better tonight? So you can prove that the world is flat and sleep better tonight? Am I right? I'm right. To Hell with all of you. The Hell with everyone."

How to Fix a Leaky Ceiling the Cartoonist Way

Not too long ago we experienced some severe wind and rain and one of the ceiling panels in my office out in Tumwater, Washington developed this stain from a leak. I am sure there are better ways to repair this, but none of them are as fun as the cartoonist method.

Catnip Frenzy at Steve's Acres of Cats

So, as you can see this innocent little construct was peacefully existing on my living room floor. It actually looks like something Ed Wood would've used as a set in one of his films.

 But then I added catnip

This morning this is what I found

And yet after this they still go outside and kill things with their insatiable thirst for thrills. I live with four literal wild and crazy party animal killers!
