Postcard - Cheyenne, Wyoming

"Sixteenth street is the main cross business street of Cheyenne as well as the route of the Lincoln Highway thru the city. Cheyenne with its miles of paved streets and its numerous large business and public buildings has all the appearances of a city of 50,000 although its population is less than half of that."

ca. 1930? The Plains Hotel, which is the centerpiece here, still exists.

Cilla Black Sings Bacharach

Cilla (short for Priscilla) was married to Bobby Willis for decades, making her legally Priscilla Willis I suppose. Has a nice ring to it. I wonder if Cilla and I are somehow in-laws?

John Adams was a one-term guy.

Postcard - Lake Willoughby, Vermont

"Aerial view of Lake Willoughby, which lies between two mountains and is often described as similar to a Swiss Lake. It is nearly 5 miles long, providing good water sports and fishing. It is in the town of Westmore, north of Lyndonville, Vt. on Vt. 5A."

1970s. When I was growing up here in Washington State, we never saw submarine sandwiches. When I lived in Vermont for awhile in 1979 I met my first "grinder" at Lake Willoughby and became hooked.
