ReplyDeleteI appreciate your comment, Food Fan Frank. Christopher Guest is a great director and really knows how to humanize an ensemble. I'm really a cat guy, but even so I loved Best in Show. As an old SCTV fan who watched it as it was released, I always enjoy seeing Levy and O'Hara at work in later feature films.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree, Christopher Guest is just amazing. I have two dogs that I very occasionally take to shows, and he TOTALLY nailed the dog show crowd. If you ever get a chance to go to a dog show, you should.. But watch the movie right before you go. You will be laughing so hard the entire time.
ReplyDeleteThanks FFF. The thing I appreciate about the Guest ensemble movies is how the humor is warm and humanist. You like the characters in spite of their faults because they are like the rest of us. Guest has a rare gift of making us being able to laugh at ourselves with forgiveness.
