Morty Comix # 2688
Morty Comix # 2688 was folded in half and tucked behind a windowsill in the McCleary, Washington Post Office.
Sybil Sings Bacharach
The Theodore Roosevelt Song
Theodore Roosevelt
Loved war
But then his son was killed in battle
And TR died shortly after
A broken man
Favorite Movie Quotes: Robin Hood: Men in Tights
"I vow to put an end to the injustice, right the wrongs, end the tyranny, restore the throne, protect the forests, introduce folk dancing, demand the 4-day work week, and affordable health care for Saxons."

Morty Comix # 2687
Morty Comix # 2687 was left in a real estate brochure distribution box at a gas station/minimart in McCleary, Washington.
By a strange coincidence, it wasn't until I posted this that I saw the mention of Windermere Real Estate in Centralia, Washington. Their HQ is in the house where my great-great grandfather's ghost still lurks, where my grandparents were married, where my mother was born. So many stories connected with that place. These kind of things happen when you are a 5th generation Washingtonian.
The Abraham Lincoln Song
If Abraham Lincoln was alive today
He'd be a liberal Democrat.
He stood for civil rights
And Big Government.
What do you think of that?

Favorite Movie Quotes: Princess Caraboo

I love my sprayer
I want to elect it Mayor
It would clean up City Hall
We need to elect it next fall.
Favorite Movie Quotes: Desperado
The Calvin Coolidge Song
Calvin Coolidge was a weirdo and sphinx
His policies gave our economy the jinx.
He was not exactly a shaker and mover
He helped cause the Great Depression
The world got the wrong impression
And everyone blamed Herbert Hoover.

Rose and Silvia
The photo is unmarked, but I can identify the McDowell sisters, probably with their spouses. Since they were both married multiple times I don't know who the gentlemen are exactly. Rose is on the chair, Silvia on the floor.
The James Buchanan Song
If I was Gay
I sure wouldn't say
"Buchanan was one of us."
Even if it was true.
Because it's quite possible,
Nay, probable,
He was the worst President
Under the red, white and blue.

Gordon's Grocery, McCleary, Washington
Apparently there is some big football game coming up, involving the Seattle Seahawks, and people seem happy and excited. I don't know who they are playing, when the game is supposed to be taking place, etc. But I do like seeing my neighbors feeling celebratory. Those are helium filled Seattle Seahawks football helmet-shaped balloons in the background. I like the fact this display is over the fruit section and not above the beer locker, but somehow I don't think the fans are going to be peeling oranges while watching the game!

The Franklin D. Roosevelt Song
My Dad hated him
My Mom loved him
And in that regard
My family was America
Even though Franklin Roosevelt
Was dead before I was born
Favorite Movie Quotes: The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
"You can be much more alone with other people than you are by yourself, even if its people you love."
Goldie?
Unidentified, but I suspect this is a photo of Goldie, Rose's developmentally disabled daughter who died in her 20s. Don't know which one of Rose's husbands would've been the father.

Been awhile since I have seen one of these repulsive things
A discarded portable dental floss thingie in the parking lot of the Tumwater, Washington Post Office. This looks like a pretty fancy one probably used by some hoit-de-la-freakin'-toit in their mouth and then thrown on the pavement for the rest of us to enjoy. Note the strand is broken, so they were quite vigorous in filing out those chunks of crap between their teeth.
Yeeech.
