  2. Can't say. When I went through Bay Center last August while researching the Bush family I felt like I was regarded as The Stranger, and I didn't feel comfortable taking phone photos of the amazing visuals the place had to offer as all the locals gave me the fish eye as I snapped away. Being from McCleary, another tiny Washington place, I could understand this dynamic totally. But on Thanksgiving morning I had the town center to myself and took advantage of that. It was a rare opportunity to record Bay Center without risk being a recipient of The Rural Stare. And the town definitely deserves to be recorded, it has a long history and remains a true Old Washington State place. The Bush family, which is so much part of Bay Center history, had a long record of public service, valor in battle, and public policy courage in the face of ignorance. Nice to see the town has a county park named after a member of that family.
