Favorite Movie Quotes: At the Circus

My fave Groucho musical number:

Oh Lydia, oh Lydia
Say, have you met Lydia
Lydia, the tattooed lady
She has eyes that folks adore so
And a torso even more so
Lydia, oh Lydia, that encyclopedia
Oh Lydia, the queen of tattoo
On her back is the "Battle Of Waterloo"
Beside it, the "Wreck Of The Hesperus" too
And proudly above
Waves the red, white and blue
You can learn alot from Lydia

La-la-la, la-la-la
La-la-la, la-la-la

When her robe is unfurled
She will show you the world
If you step up and tell her where
For a dime, you can see Kankakee or Paree
Or Washington, crossing the Delaware

La-la-la, la-la-la
La-la-la, la-la-la

Oh Lydia, oh Lydia
Say, have you met Lydia
Lydia, the tattooed lady
When her muscles start relaxin'
Up the hill comes Andrew Jackson
Lydia, oh Lydia, that encyclopedia
Oh Lydia, the queen of them all
For two bits, she will do a mazurka in jazz
With a view of Niagara that nobody has
And on a clear day, you can see Alcatraz
You can learn a lot from Lydia

La-la-la, la-la-la
La-la-la, la-la-la

Come along and see Buffalo Bill with his lasso
Just a little classic by Mendel Picasso
Here is Captain Spalding exploring the Amazon
Here's Godiva, but with her pajamas on

La-la-la, la-la-la
La-la-la, la-la-la

Here is Grover Whelen, unveilin' the Trilon
Over the west coast we have Treasure Island
Here's Nijinsky a-doin' the rhumba
Here's her Social Security number

Oh, Lydia oh Lydia, that encyclopedia
Oh Lydia, the champ of them all
She once swept an Admiral clear off his feet
The ships on her hips made his heart skip a beat
And now, the old boy's in command of the fleet
For he went and married Lydia

I said Lydia
He said Lydia
They said Lydia
We said Lydia, la la

Favorite Movie Quotes: Zatôichi abare tako = Zatoichi's Flashing Sword

"It's not the place of a gangster to go strutting around in broad daylight like he owns the world. A proper gangster bows his head and politely yields the way to the common folk."

Favorite Movie Quotes: Zoku Zatoichi monogatari = The Tale of Zatoichi Continues

"You must be Samurai. No doubt you're staying at the inn. It's dangerous to draw your sword. You know the saying about a knife in a madman's hand. Just because your master is crazy doesn't mean his retainers have to act like madmen too."

What is in Steve's Refrigerator Today?

"What is in Steve's Refrigerator Today?"

I actually get asked this question quite frequently, even by strangers on the street, post office employees, and very surly clowns who don't like to use their real names. So instead of repeating myself, I'll just post it. My refrigerator contains enough hamburger buns for one hamburger, a mostly full jar of Adams Peanut Butter (creamy), 3 sticks of butter, canola oil, mayonnaise, sweet honey mustard that expired over a month ago, and mango butter.

There. I hope that satiates the inquiring minds of people who need to know the sordid details of my dietary habits. In the freezer I have waffles and one hamburger patty.

Morty Comix # 2400

Morty Comix # 2400 was rolled up and slid into a pipe supporting two parking meters.

The white van with the crappy parking job had yappy dogs that were cussing me out as I placed this issue of Morty Comix.

Morty Comix # 2399 took advantage of the fact a downtown Olympia restaurant supplies clippy things for display. That's Ben Moore's next door, one of my favorite Oly dining spots, especially for breakfast.

Favorite Movie Quotes: Our Town (1940)

Church Choir Director Simon Stimson: "Now listen everybody. Get it out of your minds that music's only good when it's loud. You leave loudness to the Methodists. You couldn't beat 'em, even if you wanted to. Once again now, 'Art thou weary, art thou languid?' It's a question, ladies and gentlemen, make it talk."
