Morty Comix #1413

Our Newave Kansas comrade John E. was perusing through the sunny slopes of yesterday and found this thing in a box, apparently in his garage while surveying for possible water damage.

Morty Comix took all sorts of forms, but I have no memory of creating this one. It measures 17 x 10 cm. and has uneven margins. The reverse is signed and states "2/4/86, Pullman, WA."

The material is some kind of layered card paper. Looks like I used a razor to cut through the top single sheet of black to create this image.

Thanks for loaning this, John! Makes me wonder if I made any others in this fashion.

  1. John E. sent the following comment, which was deleted by accident, but I managed to save in copied form:

Actually it was sitting atop a pile (yes, a coupla weeks back in my dangerously humid garage now arid and placid if not flaccid) amongst the rather sophisticated -IMHO- flotsam and jetsom including Gauguin's south seas journals, a Borges antho, my complete set of Shaman's Drum journal, the City Lights ed. of Lautremont's Maldoror, and, oh, piles of alchemy manuscripts and other near forgot and dearly loved lost memories from woebegone. Like a lucky penny this little Morty Comik has followed my meandering psuedo-soul through decades and waves of red wine and dried up roses turning up in unlikely locales always cheering me mightily. So glad it appeared again, especially, miraculously Now...por favor...for you. Cheers!
