Charlie and Dreamer protect an original unpublished illustration. They claim it belongs it to them. It was drawn in May 1977 during the first time I lived in Seattle. I believe it was created with India ink, a medium I have not used since then.
I hadn't thought of that before, but now that you mention it I can see it too. Some say my drawing later had an influence on Bolman, who hit the scene in the mid-late 1980s, but I think we just had similar styles to begin with. I'm sure he was a student of Dr. Seuss as much as I was. This particular 1977 drawing was part of big set, but I don't recall what happened to the many others.
My guess would have been that was an Ed Bolman illo!
